The battery charge does last longer than the OEM unit, however it is at least twice as thick and no longer fits well in my case and makes the phone considerably heavier and awkward to handle. I wish I had seen that in the description.

I was at the point of checking out when I though I’d check the comments. Well thank god I did. After seeing several issues, I went to my Cell Phone Carrier and found the battery for $15 more. Then I noticed that theirs was only 1500 mAh (this one is 1700 mAh). So I called LG. What I found is their datasheet says the Extended Battery should be 1500 mAh. With a background in IT and Electronics what this meant to me is that a battery with too high of a rating of Amperage mAh (Milliampere-hour)could be detrimental to the device. If the battery was not fully charged I might work, but I didn’t want to take a chance to save a few buck so I bought the carriers item. I would like the higher battery since it might last longer but I don’t have money to waste. To anyone else who read this best of luck with your choice.

I’m just here to echo what a few of the other users are describing when they say the “power on” hack doesn’t work any longer. Well, it doesn’t. I tried to contact customer service but no one responded. Just don’t even bother.

I got my battery in the mail today, and was eager to slap it in my phone. being without a cell phone for 2 weeks was agony. I put the battery in and hooked up the charger, on the screen the message “Please use Genuine battery -power down-” popped up. no matter what i did this message kept coming up. I held down the power button for 5 minutes several times and the phone would not power up past this screen.
