    I’LL BE READY THIS CHRISTMAS!!

Last year, as Christmas approached, I was determined to do something about the waste that goes with Christmas gifts, toys, and throwaway batteries. I bought numerous packages of Nickel Metal Hydride batteries in various sizes at a local electronics chain, hoping to break the vicious cycle of throwaway batteries in my family. As you may have guess, no good deed goes unpunished.

The first problem was that the darned things had to be charged before they could be used – so the kids got to wait a day to try things out. We finally charged up ALL the batteries, including the extras – just to be ready. Fast forward to May: My wife ‘discovered’ that all of the batteries were flat, including the unused ones that we had charged. You guessed it. She threw them all away!

After reading about the new Low Self Discharge type of NiMH battery, I bought a couple of packages of AccuEvolution AAA’s and couldn’t be more pleased. They have lots of power, come charged and stay charged. We’ll be ready this Christmas.
